More Locks!

There are certainly a lot of locks along the Trent/Mersey Canal System. We went through another five locks today and got into the double locks.

Double locks means you can fit two narrowboats in the lock at the same time. It’s great if it works out that way. It means you have more people to work the locks and get the boats through.

What a Team!

We all seem to be settling into team work with our boat.

T & E work the locks most of the time – open and closing them, letting the water in (or out) of the locks. Vicky usually handles the ropes – tying up when we stop or when we’re waiting to get into a lock. Geoff is the captain and is at the tiller when we are underway and when we’re coming into, or leaving the locks.

Willington

Today we stopped for the night at Willington.

Dinner was a lovely stir-fry followed by chocolate and Kahlua.

We were all very pleasantly tired after a day of working the boat and the locks and we all fell easily into a much deserved, restful sleep.
