Sunny Sands to Wyndham Cypress Palms

We waited at Sunny Sands for the tent to dry out from the rain the day before. It didn’t take too long but it did give us the opportunity to have a leisurely breakfast and another swim in their amazingly clear pool.

Packing up went fairly well and just after we finished it started to cloud over again, so we were glad we were able to pack the tent away dry as it will now be packed up for the two weeks that we spend in timeshare.

Wyndham Cypress Palms

Our first week of timeshare is at Wyndham Cypress Palms and we arrived here around 3:00pm. That was actually a bit early as check-in time is 4:00pm. But, they checked us in and gave us our keys and parking pass.

Timeshare Bribe

The person that gave us our parking pass also offered us a bribe (pretty standard at any timeshare) to take a tour with them the next day. It was couched in phrases like “an update”, “letting you know your options”, things like that because they already knew we were timeshare owners – obviously, as we had traded into this resort through RCI.

They offered us a $125 gift card and a coupon for a 2 night stay somewhere. We’ve always found that the coupons for those 2 night stays are particularly difficult to use, we’ve had them before and never used them.

Anyway, we agreed to the tour. It was supposed to be just 90 minutes and we figured we could use the gift card to purchase the groceries we would need for the next two week.

So, tomorrow morning at 11:30am, we’re taking the tour.

Terrific Unit

We checked out where our unit was, but they weren’t quite done cleaning it, so we headed out for a few groceries for tonight’s dinner.

When we got back the unit was ready and it was beautiful! It’s a one-bedroom unit with a king-size bed, a HUGE bathroom with a separate shower and whirlpool tub, a good size living room, dining room and a kitchen with a dishwasher and garbage disposal, not to mention a full-size fridge and stove and lots of counter space.

Oh, yes! We also have a washer and dryer right in the unit.

We are very, very happy with this timeshare exchange.

We had planned to bring in the luggage as soon as we arrived but the weather had a different idea. The rain was just bucketing down and there was lots of thunder and lightning to boot.

But, hey, we’re flexible. We just brought in the cooler, cooked dinner and waited for the storm to abate. Eventually it did and we started settling in the for the week.
